Alaska Adventure Racing

January 16, 2009 The Endurance launches into Chugach, join us for a 6-12 hour winter multi-sport winter challenge. Teams of 2-3 will nordic ski, snowshoe, sled, bike, orienteer and navigate through a serious of checkpoints in Alaskan backcountry. Great training for the Susitna or for the weekend warrior.  Racers must be self-sufficient in backcountry winter travel, navigation with map and compass (GPS is not allowed), have intermediate nordic skiing and biking skills.

Check newsroom for racer updates!!

How does it work?

Teams of 2-3 will receive a list of checkpoints they must visit in order. Racers will start by plotting points on their map and then planning their route and gear (skate or classic skis) to finish the fastest.  Participants who do not have experience plotting UTM coordinates will receive help at the start. Once the race starts, teams will travel together from checkpoint to checkpoint, using different modes of travel and completing mystery events along the way to the finish.
