Bushwack This!  Adventure Race

Alaska's only  USARA National qualifier,

 12 hour adventure race

Race HQ: Cooper Landing, Alaska

Cost: 2 person team $200  3 person team $275

Prerace Meeting: Cooper Landing, Alaska August 5th, 7pm. Plan on camping in Cooper Landing the night before the race.

Teams of 2-3. Only coed teams of 3 may qualify for Nationals. Need a teammate try posting on our facebook page or join the Alaska Adventure Racing Club on facebook.

 2011 Bushwack This is a 12 hour adventure race. Teams of two to three will navigate their way on foot, bike and boat through a seriers of checkpoints (unmarked course) in Alaskan backcountry.  Teams must be within 20 meters at all times, this is not a relay. Top three teams will qualify for USARA Nationals.

Racers must be able to safely navigate their way off trail through backcountry using only map and compass, GPS etc are not allowed! Racers should be experienced with backcountry travel, stream crossings, UTM plotting, travel in bear territory and have intermediate paddeling and mountain biking skills. If you are generally fit and reglarly participate in outdoor activity and have the above skills, you should be able to complete the race. Keep in mind the pace of a 24 hour race is that of most racers' typical day trip.  Any questions Email adventureracealaska@gmail.com.
