2010 Bushwack This! Race Updates
Plan on a linear course about 20 trekking miles, 30 biking miles and 10 miles of paddling and a "mountain Orienteering" section of epic proportions... about 15-18 hours for a competative team, 20-24 for a rookie team with less motivation. That being said, the orienteering leg is last, and the person with the most checkpoints wins.
The paddling leg this year is a flatwater canoe paddle. It will be late in the race. This means you need to have glow sticks minimum 4 inches long as part of manditory gear. There is a cut off on the paddle leg...if it is dark you will not be allowed to paddle the entire leg.
Racers must supply their own canoe. Be prepared to drop them off at the paddle leg start Friday August 13th. Location will be announced at the Thursday night meeting.
Bring long sleeves (silk weight), there is cow parsnip on the course.
Race start is with in 15 miles of Turnagain pass. It is highly suggested camping at granite creek campground or nearby the night prior to the race. There isn't a host hotel this year.
Registration is open up to the meeting on Thursday night. You can register online for a slight discount prior to the meeting.
There will be an awards meeting Sunday night.
The race start will be at either at the stroke of midnight Saturday or at 0530 Saturday. It is weather dependent...
